Favorite Female Character:

Tsunade

I’m not very committed to many, if any, female Naruto characters. They just aren’t presented and handled the same way the male characters are in the story, so I don’t get attached to them, simple as that. I guess it’s Tsunade, with Tenten and Rin tied as a close second. Why? They’re actually fucking capable, serious ninjas, and Tsunade is a badass motherfucker.

Tsunade is strong, a leader, abrasive, has flaws, does not live and breathe for a guy or other love interest, is self-sacrificing, and gets shit done without needing to be fucking saved. She gambles. She drinks. She’s the best healer out there. She has a complex relationship with another female character that does not involve fighting over a boy. She has a traumatic past and heavy background that she actually actively struggles with. She doesn’t always make the right decision, though she tries to. She’s a real fucking human being, wow!

Kakashi has been my favorite since… hmmm when did Naruto first air in the US? Since the first airing of the first show that Kakakshi appeared in when it was first aired in the US. Since then. Sometime in 2005. I feel old

I just, uh, I thought he was pretty awesome. He was just the only fucking capable ninja , and he continued to be really fucking capable compared to everyone else. He seemed to be the only real ninja in a show about ninjas, actually. He hid his identity, didn’t do all the drama shit everyone else did, got his shit done, dressed practically, acted calmly, fought in a proficient (and awesome) manner, was incredibly powerful and intelligent, and fucking sexy.

I also love that he has flaws, damn. Them some good flaws. He is emotionally fucked. He has some major trust issues. He is pretty distant with his team, along with everyone else. He seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time a tragic amount of times. He loves and cares for others so much, and only wants to protect them, while never quite being able to say so. He has had so much trauma that he projects this carefree, laid-back personality that no one even questions so he can hide all of his hurt and self-loathing and reject— why?—because he doesn’t want to burden others with it? whoa, sorry, I’m moving into speculation, shouldn’t be doing that, moving ooooon

After finding out more about his past, I liked him even more. I’m not getting into that feels fest, no sir. *wails* Hmmm, yup, I’m all out of words. Really cool guy.
